Artist Profile
Throughout the 1980's and early '90's, Karall joined local art societies where she took painting classes held by Peter Wegner, Brian Armstrong and Alan Martin. During this time, she worked predominantly with pastels and oils, selling her paintings through local art shows.
In 1996, Karall began her formal education in art at the Box Hill Institute and later went on to study at RMIT University in Melbourne, which, in 2007, saw her complete her bachelor's degree in fine art. During these eleven years, Karall exhibited a range of works, adding printmaking and black-and-white photography to her repertoire, while developing an ineluctable passion for drawing. In 2005, she was highly commended at the 'Artholes Self-Portrait Show' for a charcoal drawing of herself, and received a grant from the 'George Alexander Foundation' to continue her studies at university. Some of the artists she studied under included Stephen Wickham, Heather Hesterman, David Thomas, Godwin Bradbeer, Jim Taylor and Deborah Kline.
Karall continues to reside in Melbourne where she is currently working on private commissions and a series of portraits.
